Connecting UK businesses with exceptional talent in Sri Lanka

Hiring great people in the UK shouldn’t mean compromising on quality — and building a great career shouldn’t depend on where someone lives. TalentDock is a founder-led offshore staffing company that brings those two opportunities together, placing skilled Sri Lankan professionals in dedicated, full-time roles with UK businesses.

Our story

Two problems, seen from both sides

After more than 10 years working across technology, web development, SEO, digital marketing and business operations, I kept seeing the same two problems from different sides.

For UK businesses, building the right team has become expensive and competitive. Finding skilled people, keeping them and scaling a team puts real pressure on growing companies.

At the same time, Sri Lanka has a growing pool of talented, educated and ambitious professionals who can work to international standards — but many don’t have access to international companies or long-term career paths.

I saw an opportunity to bring these two sides together, properly. That became the foundation of TalentDock.

The UK side

Rising hiring costs, long time-to-hire and fierce competition for skilled people make it hard for growing businesses to build the team they need.

The Sri Lankan side

Capable, well-educated professionals ready for international work — but too often without access to the companies and careers that match their ability.

The bridge

A professional, transparent offshore staffing model that works for both — so the business grows and the professional builds a real career.

Why we started

Offshore staffing should be about more than cost

TalentDock wasn’t created simply to offer cheaper offshore staffing. It was created to build a better way for UK businesses and Sri Lankan professionals to work together — where both sides gain.

What UK businesses gain

  • Skilled, motivated professionals
  • A wider talent pool than your local market
  • Flexible team growth, one seat at a time
  • Reliable, long-term support
  • Strong communication and collaboration
  • Real operational efficiency

What Sri Lankan professionals gain

  • Access to international companies
  • Better career opportunities
  • Exposure to global working standards
  • Long-term professional development
  • Meaningful work with international teams
  • A career built without leaving Sri Lanka

When both sides benefit, offshore staffing stops being outsourcing. It becomes a genuine partnership.

Why Sri Lanka

A strong talent base — and a working day that overlaps with yours

Sri Lanka has a strong and growing professional talent base across technology, finance and accounting, administration, customer support, digital marketing, software development and QA.

Talent is only part of the equation. Sri Lanka is just 4.5 hours ahead of the UK in summer and 5.5 hours in winter, so your offshore team can work within overlapping business hours and collaborate with UK colleagues throughout the day. Your team doesn’t feel like a separate operation — it becomes a genuine extension of your UK team.

That’s why we focus on more than finding someone who can complete a task. We find the right person for the right role, integrate them into your team and build a structure that works for the long term. For roles that suit it, we also recruit through our Philippines delivery hub.

Skilled, educated professionals

Depth across technology, finance, operations and digital — people capable of working to international standards.

Overlapping hours

A 4.5–5.5 hour difference means shared working hours every day, not overnight hand-offs.

English-speaking business culture

English is widely used in Sri Lankan business and professional life, making day-to-day collaboration natural.

Built for the long term

We hire for fit and retention, so your team member grows with your business rather than churning.

Vision and mission

Where we’re going — and why

Our vision

To make international talent accessible to ambitious businesses — while creating world-class career opportunities for professionals in Sri Lanka.

We see a future where geography is no longer a barrier to building exceptional teams. A UK company can access the skills it needs, a talented professional in Sri Lanka can build a rewarding international career, and both benefit from the relationship. TalentDock exists to make that connection simpler, more transparent and more sustainable.

Our mission

To connect UK businesses with exceptional Sri Lankan professionals through a trusted, transparent and people-focused offshore staffing model.

Every placement is built on the same five principles: find the right talent, build long-term teams, make international hiring simpler, create real career opportunities, and build trust on both sides from day one.

Our principles

Five principles behind every placement

01

Find the right talent

We assess skills, experience, communication, attitude and cultural fit — not just keywords on a CV.

02

Build long-term teams

We focus on lasting working relationships, not short-term outsourcing arrangements.

03

Make international hiring simpler

Recruitment, team setup and ongoing support are handled for you, so building an offshore team feels straightforward.

04

Create real career opportunities

Talented Sri Lankan professionals get meaningful international work, professional growth and a long-term path.

05

Build trust on both sides

A successful offshore team runs on trust. We create transparency between you, your team member and TalentDock from the start.

Why UK businesses trust TalentDock

How we protect your business

Trust is earned through structure, not slogans. Here’s exactly how a TalentDock placement works behind the scenes — so you know who is responsible for what before you hire.

We’re the employer

Your team member is employed by TalentDock in their home country. We handle contracts, payroll, statutory contributions (including EPF and ETF in Sri Lanka), leave and HR. You manage the work — not the paperwork.

One agreement, one monthly fee

A B2B managed-services agreement and a single all-in fee per seat — from £1,195 a month — covering salary, employment costs, compliance, IT and ongoing support.

UK GDPR-aligned data handling

Personal data transfers are covered by a Data Processing Agreement and the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), supported by a transfer risk assessment.

Simpler UK compliance

Because your team member is employed offshore and works wholly outside the UK, IR35 and employer National Insurance don’t typically apply to you. We always recommend confirming your position with your own adviser.

Managed IT and access

We set up and manage the equipment your team member works on, with system access agreed with you before day one.

Ongoing support, not a hand-off

We stay involved after placement — onboarding, performance check-ins and support to keep the working relationship strong.

More than offshore staffing

Your team member should feel like part of your business

A great offshore team shouldn’t feel like an external supplier. That means understanding your goals, your processes, your communication style and the standards your customers expect. Whether you need one specialist or want to build an entire offshore department, we find people who can become a genuine part of your organisation.

Built from real industry experience

A founder-led business, not a faceless agency

Founder

Dayabandu (Daya) Peiris

Founder, TalentDock · Based in Sri Lanka

TalentDock is built on more than an idea. It comes from more than a decade working across technology, websites, digital marketing, SEO and business operations — with a close view of how businesses build teams, manage projects and deal with the practical challenge of finding the right people.

That experience also gave Daya a first-hand understanding of the talent available in Sri Lanka — and one thing became clear: there is a significant opportunity to connect capable Sri Lankan professionals with businesses that need their skills. TalentDock was created to build that bridge properly.

“Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t. TalentDock exists to close that gap — for UK businesses and for the people who join them.”
What we believe

The beliefs that shape how we work

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn’t.

Talented people should have access to international opportunities, wherever they live.

Cost matters. Quality matters more.

A successful offshore team creates value — it doesn’t just reduce a salary bill.

People build businesses.

Technology and systems matter, but businesses grow through capable people working together.

Long-term relationships win.

We build sustainable teams, not transactional outsourcing arrangements.

International teams can work exceptionally well.

With the right people, communication, processes and expectations, an offshore team becomes a natural extension of your UK business.

Our commitments

Committed to both sides of the bridge

Our commitment to UK businesses

Our goal isn’t simply to introduce you to candidates. We want to help you build a team that works — by understanding the role you need, identifying suitable talent, supporting the hiring process and helping establish a strong working relationship.

The right person. The right role. The right team.

Our commitment to Sri Lankan talent

We’re equally focused on the people behind the profiles — helping Sri Lankan professionals access companies, projects and careers that let them grow and work to an international standard. International employment should provide more than a monthly salary.

The future of work

Building the future of UK–Sri Lanka talent

Work is becoming increasingly global. Businesses no longer need to limit their search for talent to people who live within a few miles of the office — and professionals anywhere can contribute to international organisations without leaving home.

TalentDock sits at that intersection. Our ambition is to become a trusted bridge between the UK and Sri Lanka: helping businesses build stronger teams, while helping talented professionals build better careers.

Our promise

Build relationships, not transactions.

We want our clients to see their TalentDock team members as valued members of their organisation — not offshore resources. And we want our professionals to feel they’ve joined a company where their skills, contribution and career matter. That is the TalentDock approach.
